CREDO IN ACTION
Corporate Social Responsibility

Community Works
‘We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work and to the world community as well’ Our Credo
Aligned with Our Credo responsibilities, we support non-profit organizations throughout the world in advancing the health and well-being of those in need.
We believe that our Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships are a powerful reflection of our values. Our worldwide partnerships are focused in the areas of: Saving and Improving Lives, Building Healthcare Capacity and Preventing Diseases.
These initiatives supplement the many local activities supported by our employees and companies in the communities surrounding our offices and manufacturing facilities.
In the UK, our aim is to be recognized by principle stakeholders as playing a key leadership role in the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility in the UK.
Some examples of our UK Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives include:
Warwick Diabetes Care
We work in partnership with the Warwick Diabetes Care (WDC) at Warwick University providing courses on Diabetes Care, ‘Understanding and Managing Diabetes in the Asian Community’. So far, over 3000 Healthcare Professionals have been reached by the programme. The partnership supports the implementation of the National Service Framework (NSF) for Diabetes to provide more education for people with diabetes and for Healthcare Professionals.
Tommy’s – The Baby Charity
ETHICON has embarked upon a partnership with Tommy’s to inform and educate all parents-to-be about health in pregnancy. By providing this information, both partners hope to ensure that every pregnancy in the UK has the best possible chance of a healthy outcome.
Friends of African Nurses (FoAN)
Friends of African Nursing is a UK based charity that facilitates perioperative education for nurses in Africa and other parts of the developing world. ETHICON have supported FoAN since their foundation. Nurse education programmes have taken place in Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi, helping African nurses become ‘change agents’ for improved patient care and nursing practice in Africa.
